Postcode: NAAZ Indian Restaurant PR4 6SR
From Parbold shops turn right and head up to the top of The Common.
Turn left on to B5426 and then turn left at Robin Lane towards Rufford.
Continue on this road toward Rufford. Cross the track at Rufford station and a little further turn right on the main A59 road towards Tarleton/Preston. At the new Aldi store continue straight ahead into Tarleton, Church Road. At the second mini roundabout in the centre of the village, in front of the Village Inn, turn right and then take the first road on the left after the shops (Hesketh Lane}. Continue on this road for some time, passing Booths on the right. Look out for a One Stop shop on the left and shortly after turn right at the entrance to a disused Sports Centre. There are several large signs outside, one of which says NAAZ.
This is a flat, easy walk of approximately 7 miles. It takes in local lanes, farm tracks and marsh land embankments towards the confluence of the Douglas and the Ribble.
If the weather is clear there are good views from the RSPB Reserve and toward Warton Aerodrome and the Bowland Fells.
There are no toilets available on the walk. There are public toilets in Tarleton village and Booths Supermarket at Hesketh bank.
Members are responsible for their own safety.
As expected at this time of the year, some of the paths can be very muddy, so protective clothing, stout boots or wellingtons and sticks are recommended.
