Circular Walk
This is an easy, circular walk of approximately three and a half miles combining town and countryside.
Paths are generally good but care must be taken on busy roads. At this time of the year pavements are covered with leaves and some woodland paths can be muddy. Good boots and sticks are recommended. You are responsible for your own safety.
There will be a coffee stop in Ruff Wood and a short lunch break after the circular walk. Please bring a drink and packed lunch if required.
Heritage Trail
At 12.30 we return to the Clocktower in the town centre to meet Dot Broady-Hawkes. Dot is a social, local and family historian who will take us on a guided walk around Ormskirk Heritage Trail. Her walk is approximately two and a half hours and takes in the history of many of the town’s important buildings. It should prove to be informative and enjoyable.
Those members who do not wish to do the circular walk may join the group for the Heritage Trail at 12.30.
There is no charge for the guided walk but we are asked to make a small donation to the Heritage Centre.
